Enterprise Surprise

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

Last week we were thrilled to win the Internship Provider of the Year award at the Plymouth University’s Vice-Chancellor’s Enterprise Awards held on Plymouth Hoe.

We were recognised for our creation of the Bluestone360 Academy – the initiative specifically launched to create opportunities for graduates. It sought to attract the best young design and digital talents in the region, offering university leavers the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, working on live projects, within our offices in Royal William Yard. We employed six graduates overall.

Mervyn went along to the ceremony and brought us back the award and accompanying certificate, which are now sitting proudly in our display cabinet.

A match made in Devon (and Cornwall)

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

The lovely lot at Cornish country club China Fleet recently appointed us to produce a new website for them – design it, build it, write it and generally make it beautiful. With several different departments and a huge range of offerings to fairly represent, we had our work cut out – but we got there, and the site is now up and running.

Both our team and theirs are chuffed with the outcome! We hope this is the start of a solid relationship and great things to come. Take a peek at www.china-fleet.co.uk.

Third time’s a charm

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

For the third time – and second year in a row – we are delighted to have been nominated for a coveted Gramia Award by the Grocer magazine (although the event has now been renamed and is known as the Marketing, Advertising and PR, or MAP, awards). It’s for our creation of the most recent Ginsters website and its associated Man Plea campaign.

The awards themselves will be held in London’s Savoy hotel at the beginning of November and we’re up against the likes of Listerine and Walkers in the online category, so our fingers are crossed!

Watch this space. We’ll keep you posted…

Bluestone360, Plymouth NHS & Jeremiah’s Journey give schools a helping hand

Friday, March 11th, 2011

We are delighted to be part of a scheme launched to assist schools in the city deal help bereaved children. Plymouth NHS united with Jeremiah’s Journey, a charity that works with children when they’ve lost somebody close, to produce posters, leaflets and booklets that will be distributed to all primary and secondary schools in Plymouth.

The resources use illustrations by children who have been helped by Jeremiah’s Journey – a charity we have supported for several years – and seek to give readers a candid understanding of the emotions that might affect children during bereavement, and advice on the best ways to deal with them. The set includes ‘Jeremiah’s Journal’ – a booklet where children can communicate with grown-ups and schoolmates about how they are feeling.

Using the children’s drawings, we designed and put together all the literature, which will be imminently released into local schools.

A launch party was held at our offices and we were thrilled, after informing the local press, that BBC Spotlight came along to report the event!

We couple our cutting-edge copy with striking designs, capturing the core essence of brands and businesses in every creative way we can.

If you could do with sprucing up your online brand experience, we can help! Why not drop us a line? These folks did…

Launch of the Wicked Pig

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

We were delighted to bring to life Tulip’s new range of pork snacks, which was launched after the global food giant spotted a niche in the savoury snacking market. We designed all packaging for the new brand, Wicked Pig, which targets the student and young person demographic and now rivals other big names in the meat snacking market. With four different flavour varieties – Firecracker Chilli, Southern Fried, Hog Roast and Sweet & Sour – Wicked Pig snacks can be found on shelves in Tesco and Morrisons stores nationwide.
